Scope and Contents
The Robert Garrett Papers, 1922-1975 series, contain documentation of Robert Garrett's longstanding support of the work of the YMCA in his hometown of Baltimore as well as nationally and internationally. Most of Garrett's work represented in the records relates to the YMCA of Baltimore for which he served on the Board of Directors from 1902 to 1946, and as President and then Vice President in the 1930s. After stepping back from his leadership role, Garrett continued to serve on various committtees and assisted in a considerable amount of fundraising.
