This collection documents local Baltimore City elections, Maryland state elections, and national elections through Democratic party candidates' political campaign materials between 1976-2022. Personal and political papers were added after the original donation. The collection includes 118 campaign posters, campaign signs, and voting signs; 21 political t-shirts; and campaign ephemera such as proposals and collected campaign pens. The bulk of the collection consists of campaign signs which have been organized into three series by election type: national, state, and local. In total there are 22 national election signs and posters; 51 Maryland state elections signs and posters; and 45 local Baltimore City elections signs and posters. The series containing political t-shirts includes 21 total shirts that relate to local, state, and national campaigns which Mr. Marker attended. The Ephemera series contains items from Bill Marker's local election candidacy. The Personal and Political Papers series includes 6 linear feet of textual records documenting South Baltimore neighborhood planning issues in Pigtown/ Washington Village, Cherry Hill, and Ridgley's Delight; the Marylanders for Sports Sanity's grassroots fight against the baseball stadium at Camden Yards; MPEC labor union issues; the campaign records of the Friends of Bill Marker; and a set of 10 rolled Baltimore City Council District maps. Marker collected and created this material between the 1970s and 2022.
