Scope and Contents
The Southeast Community Organization Records collection documents the history and advocacy work of the community organization in Baltimore City between 1972 and 1996. Materials are mainly textual and include the organization's articles of incorporation, meeting minutes, correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, annual reports, financial records, newsletters, personnel files and publications. A notable subject is the interstate highway construction plans proposed to be built through Baltimore City in the 1960s and 1970s, also known as the "road fight."
