Ten Hills – Clay Model Houses
Scope and Contents
These clay models were found in a Ten Hills home by the homeowner, Doug Rittenhouse and were lent to Stephen Israel for presentation and research purposes before being permanently accessioned with this collection. This series contains a folder of copies of an accession record between Stephen Israel and Rittenhouse, a description of clay model houses, written up by Israel. The description written by Stephen Israel includes a few theories as to the creation and original use of this model set. There are photographs of the set of models in this folder that were likely taken by Israel or the previous owner Doug Rittenhouse as a record of the set. This series also contains two boxes, one box of clay model houses that have been identified as specific buildings in Ten Hills, and second box of unidentified model houses. Please note that these models are fragile and so care must be taken when handling them.
