Scope and Contents

The Concerned Citizens for Butchers Hill Records documents the history and functions of the community organization between 1977 and 1997. Historical Note

CCBH was a neighborhood nonprofit organization in Baltimore City that was formally incorporated in March 1978. The group's focus was on fairness in housing; their goals included the prevention of the displacement of low-income renters in Butchers Hill, the development of community owned and controlled housing options for poor residents, and the promotion of home ownership among low-income families.
