Historical Note
Founded 1956 on the centennial of the birth of Maryland poet Lizette Woodworth Reese, the Maryland State Poetry Society was organized to promote the creation and appreciation of poetry and to advance cultural interests in Maryland through publications and poetry programs in cooperation with related arts.
