Historical Note
The Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization managed by volunteers that celebrates mature Marylanders (aged 65+) who have made significant contributions to benefit the community. The organization was founded in 1987 and recognizes the volunteer work and achievments of individual senior citizens. Each year the organization reviews nominations and selects up to 50 individuals to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Each of the selected inductees receive a Hall of Fame membership certificate, an official MSCHF lapel pin, and are featured in the annual Blue Book. A sub-group of up to five inductees are also selected to recieve the GERI Award recognizing exemplary community service.
