Historical Note

The University of Baltimore Special Collections and Archives created this oral history collection as part of its centennial celebration to preserve the memories of individuals who have been influenced by the University over the years. Founded in 1925, the University of Baltimore has undergone significant structural and academic changes over the past century.

In anticipation of its 100th anniversary in 2025, Special Collections and Archives conducted an extensive series of oral history interviews with faculty, staff, trustees, and alumni to document and celebrate the institution’s evolving legacy. This project sheds light on the University’s history over the past 50 years through personal stories and reflections.

The oral history project began in spring 2021 and was completed in May 2025. Interviewees were selected from a diverse group of individuals representing a wide range of responsibilities, experiences, backgrounds, and years of service to the University.
