Abstract From 1978 through 1981, the Baltimore Neighborhood Heritage Project (BNHP) recorded and collected oral histories from longtime residents of seven Baltimore neighborhoods -- Highlandtown, Hampden, Park Heights, Little Italy, South Baltimore, Old West Baltimore, and East Baltimore--and with workers in and around the Port of Baltimore. Scope and Contents The collection contains a data set of neighborhood surveys conducted in 1983 by Matthew Crenson for his book, "Neighborhood Politics." The Data set series documents neighborhoods throughout Baltimore City. The Publications series includes community and neighborhood profiles for various locations in the city dated 1980-1996. This series also includes documentation from 1999 on the proposed structure of the "Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Center."
Scope and Contents The collection includes copies of early Olmsted planning documents and early photographs of the community. The bulk of the collection is organizational records of the community association, including: newsletters, meeting books, membership directories, scrapbooks, newspaper articles, reports, association correspondence, maps, and presentation boards for various community projects.

Scope and Contents The Concerned Citizens for Butchers Hill Records documents the history and functions of the community organization between 1977 and 1997. Materials are mainly textual and include articles of incorporation, meeting minutes, correspondence, financial records, publications, deeds, grants, and subject files relating to neighborhood and homeownership topics. Some subjects of note include tenants issues, rent, property taxes, section 8 housing, construction, zoning, and mortages.
