The collection contains photographic transparencies (negative and positive film), a corresponding set of scanned DNG files, and photogravure copper plates and prints. The images document Baltimore City's architectural history through the built environment from 1979 to 2020 as well as Schamp's personal fine art photography from 1988 to 2004.

The collection documents the historic preservation and subsequent redevelopment of the American Can Company site in the waterfront neighborhood of Canton in southeast Baltimore City.
